The stunning 2016 vintage provided us wonderful fruit and varietal characters to work with. We believe these three varieties together deliver full layers and length of palate. We selected Cabernet fruit from the Orchard block, Pig and Pony, Oakley and Bond blocks, the Petit Verdot from OTC and Katunga vineyards, with the Merlot parcel from Johnston Prolific. This elegant yet intense wine exhibits a bouquet of lifted blackcurrant, violets and mint, with floral notes and hints of red guava. With the palate showing intense cassis, red currant and musk, enhanced by traces of quince, red capsicum and subtle cedary oak. Approachable now with aerating or will develop gracefully with correct cellaring.
