Killibinbin Wines commenced production in 1997, producing a "massive" 400 cases of Langhorne Creek Shiraz. This wine sold out in six weeks, was critically acclaimed around the world and launched a new career in wine production for Killibinbin founders, premium wine retailers and obsessed "wine nuts", Wayne Anderson and Liz Blanks. Seven vintages on, Killibinbin has gone from strength to strength. That initial 400 cases has now grown to over 5000 cases and Killibinbin is now being served in some of the finest establishments around the world.

This wine is an excellent example of just how well Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon knit together. The Shiraz component is rich, ripe and opulent, contributing brambly dark fruits and giving the wine plenty of body and middle palate, whilst the Cabernet aids the overall structure, contributing fine, ripe tannins and giving the wine a lift with plenty of sweet red berry fruit. The palate is soft, ripe and round, exploding with briary fruit and delicate hits of spice, earth and tar.
A rich sweet core of ripe red berry fruit with hints of violets, fresh herbs and mocha. The palate is round, ripe and sumptuous with good balance and well integrated oak. Fine ripe tannins complete the picture, tightening the structure and drying out the long finish.
