The Tatiarra Vineyard is sustained by a band of this ancient Cambrian soil in which Shiraz vines thrive, producing fruit of incomparable quality and wines of matchless character. The resulting wines are perfectly balanced, possessing tremendous exuberance and are capable of long term cellar development. The name Tatiarra is an Aboriginal word meaning 'Beautiful Country'. The vineyard was originally selected by Bill Hepburn, and in 2001 Domaines Tatiarra purchased the property and continued development. Tatiarra is a modern company firmly rooted in the terroir of the vineyard and sustained by a dream that is now in the process of becoming a reality.

The nose is perfumed and powerful, with violet top notes, followed by spice, black cherries, concentrated blackberries and cedar. The palate is a total explosion - vinous G forces hit every corner of the mouth, with intense layers of spice, blackberry and black pepper, overlaid with cedar and plum. The tannins are evident, but almost unperceivable, given the intensity of the fruit. The balance is perfect and the oral explosion continues well into the aftertaste.

Perfumed violet top note, with flavours of blackberry, liquorice, spice, cedar and very pronounced black pepper. The palate is an explosion – it would seem impossible to deliver more concentration of flavour. Intense layers of blackberry, cedar, black pepper, liquorice and black cherries, with the kind of power and persistence that are occasionally found in the very great bottles of Pinot Noir. The tannins are persistent, but they are fine and perfectly balanced.
