    Viking Wines

    Viking Wines is one of the smaller enterprises in the heart of Marananga, Barossa Valley. The estate is one of the very few old and biodynamic dry-grown vineyards left in the Barossa Valley. Wines extracted from such grapes produce the full flavour of a true Barossa red, reflecting the distinctive characters of the rich soil and sun-drenched vineyards of the pristine area of Marananga. It's premium red-clay vineyards produce a miniscule 2000 cases per year. The fruit is hand-picked, open fermented, gently basket pressed, followed by maturation in American and French Oak, slowly racked over time, and finally bottled after approximately 24 months.

    A seductive bouquet, showing fresh brambly fruit with a menthol lift. Big, very-fine, dusty tannins need time to integrate but the deep, pure, fruit has enough power to kick through. Liquorice, chocolate and black plum flavours finish with terrific length and persistence. A muscular-weight wine its tight and demands time.
